Cookies
As of the date at the top of this page
This site sets no cookies. None — not analytics, not advertising, not preferences, not “strictly necessary” ones. There is no consent banner because there is currently nothing to consent to.
We would rather say that while it is true than publish a generic cookie policy describing cookies we do not use.
What does run in your browser
- Site search. When you use the search box, your browser fetches a small static index file and matches your query locally. It stores nothing and sets no cookie.
- A small amount of interface JavaScript, for the header and the search suggestions. It stores nothing.
Your browser will cache the site’s files — pages, fonts, images — the way it caches any website. That is browser caching, not cookies, and your browser controls it.
What will change
This site is intended to carry advertising, and to use analytics to see which pages actually answer people’s questions. When that happens, cookies will be set, and this page will change before they are:
| Purpose | What sets it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes one visit from another, so we can tell whether a page was useful. IP anonymisation on. |
| Advertising | An ad network, likely Google AdSense | Ad delivery, frequency capping and measurement. Governed by the network’s own policy. |
| Consent | The consent manager | Remembers the choice you made, so you are not asked repeatedly. |
A consent manager will be in place before any of that loads. You will be able to refuse the analytics and advertising cookies and still read every page — nothing on this site is gated.
Controlling cookies yourself
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for a specific site, and those controls override anything we do. Blocking cookies here will not break the site, because none of its content depends on them.
