Affiliate Disclosure
As of the date at the top of this page
Pinchwell carries no affiliate links and no advertising.
Not “we only use them sparingly”, and not “we may occasionally earn a commission” — there are currently none on the site. No affiliate programme has been joined, no product is recommended for payment, and no advertising script is loaded on any page. No page here has ever earned money.
We are stating that plainly rather than publishing a disclosure for arrangements that do not exist, which is the more common practice and tells you nothing.
When that changes
It probably will. This site is intended to pay for itself, most likely through display advertising and possibly through affiliate links on a small number of pages. When it does, this page changes first, and the rules below bind from that moment.
Advertising
- No advert appears above the answer. The substitute, the ratio and the caveat come first on every page, on every screen size.
- Ad slots reserve their height in advance, so nothing you are reading moves once the page has loaded.
- A consent manager will be in place before any advertising loads, and this page and the Cookies page will be updated at the same time.
Affiliate links
- Never above the answer, and never inside the substitution table. The table is data, and putting a paid link in it would make the data untrustworthy.
- At most one affiliate block per page.
- Every affiliate link is marked
rel="sponsored nofollow"and is visibly labelled as such where it appears. - No prices are quoted, because they go stale and create pressure to keep them fresh rather than to keep the page correct.
- A product is never named because it pays. Recommendations follow the sourcing rules in How we source. If we would not recommend it without a commission, it does not appear.
Why this matters more here than on a recipe site
The whole proposition of this site is that the ratio in the table is the number the sources actually support. The moment a commercial interest can move that number, the site is worthless — to you, and therefore to us. The placement rules above exist to keep the money away from the data, and they are enforced in the site’s build process rather than left to editorial discipline.
